The Wyoming sky was clear and a bit chilly this morning. I made plans for lunch so decided to take the most direct route from Jackson to Idaho Falls, over the Wilson pass into Victor, ID, down into Swan Valley, along the Snake River, and into town. It was a familiar ride, and I enjoyed reliving it.  Continue reading

Where Have I Been?

Just over a year ago I described How God Gets Control of Our Game, concluding, “I believe our best response to the many challenges of life is to reflect the everlasting forgiveness of our own sins and love one another. And when we stumble, once again, trust that God will get control of our game!

At that time our immediate family was facing a crisis, one that has been very difficult to process emotionally. Through faith and a little help from Al-Anon, we gained a new footing in life. We also determined that surrendering to the inevitable passing on of sinful behavior from generation to generation is not an appropriate response. So we press on, in faith, towards the ultimate goal of our calling as individuals and a married couple in Christ Jesus. Continue reading

The Road Home

Lisa and I enjoyed a refreshing visit in Kansas with our son, Nick, daughter-in-law, Betsy, and 15 month-old grandson, Benson. Nick and I played three rounds of golf, Lisa spent every moment she could with Benson, and we all laughed and played together. Our time in Kansas was the perfect start to the journey of reDeploying. There is simply nothing better than uninterrupted time with the people we love!
